Coruscant: Darkness Waning

*As Cran and Elan approach the place they had all decided to meet back up, they notice that the only one back was Kodo. Elan looks at Cran and shrugs.*

I suppose we'll have to make due with the two of us and the blind assassin. Do you think he'll cause us any trouble? *She whispered, sure that they were slightly out of earshot of Kodo.*

*Cran whisper*
"Only one way to find out."

*Elan nods and begins making her way towards Kodo, noticing that the crowds gave a wide berth around him. She frowned slightly, eyeing him carefully. As she approached, she spoke to him just loud enough for him to hear her over the crowd, but not loud enough to be over heard.*

Kodo? Could we interest you in accompanying us to gather some supplies?

*Kodo turns towards the pair, smiling* "Thought you'd never ask, where we headed my friends?"

*Elan hesitates.*

We...took a job from one of my contacts. She instructed us that anything we could take was ours, and we seem to have retrieved the keys to his home.

*She shuffles her feet a bit nervously before turning away.*

"Where is this contact? Do we know the target? Movements men,weaponry, assets, anything? We can't pull off a hit with 0 prep work lady. And is this a high profile executions or a low impact assassination?

*Elan scoffs.*

Cran and I have already handled it. You may be an assassin, but you aren't the only one with any experience here. I've done my research.

*She glances at Cran, ensuring he was going to keep his word.*

All that's left is to collect our reward. We're clearing out his home. Considering your previous affiliation, I hope he wasn't a friend of yours.

*She eyes the assassin disdainfully.*

I'm not sure exactly who you are... associated with, friend, besides us.

*Kodo's smile widens as her tone becomes scornful* "I'm affiliated with myself, and currently the sunset friend . If you must know, most of my time was spent with the Blood, but spent some time working for the hurts, and the black suns. Whoever paid the coin.
Past allegiances are nothing to worry about, they threaten us, and I'll be on your side as long as our agreement stands. I'll be right behind you lass."

*Elan fights the urge to huff as she begins walking. She glances around at the crowd around them. She slows her pace a bit to drop back between Cran and Kodo.*

Do the two of you remember my friend Urukai? *She lets out a soft laugh, stalling a bit until most of the crowd was completely out of earshot.* Urukai Tarvic? He's invited us out drinking with him tonight.

*She flashed a quick grin at Cran.*

I hear he can really hold his alcohol.

*Kodo stops in the middle of the street, perplexed.* "How in the world do you know that name? Nevermind that, why is he one of our targets? Do you know who he even is?" *Kodo walks quickly to catch up, and grabs both Crab and Elan's shoulders, spinning them around* "Urukai will track us down if we loot his house."

*Elan frowns and raises a brow.*

Be kind hard for a dead man to track us, Kodo. Of course I know who he is, this is where I'm from, remember?

*She pauses for a moment.*

If you don't feel comfortable with this, I can handle it on my own.

*Kodos eyebrows raised even further if that was possible.* He's dead? Who killed him?!

* Elan frowns.*

If you consider that I'm the one that gave him the rum, I suppose that would be yours truly.

*Elan tenses, nervous that she'd offended him, or perhaps killed someone he actually was friends with.*

*A malicious grin spreads over Kodo's face, a laugh bubbling from his throat*
"You killed him? I've had my eye on that bastard for years! Congratulations on a good kill then, remind me to find some brandy to share a drink of later, so, to our friends house?"

* Elan eyes Kodo curiously, before sighing.*

Somehow I feel like you're going to give me whiplash. Let's get going, I suppose.

* She turned again and began making her way towards Urukai's home.*

Kodo walks with her, his hands in his jacket pocket, checking and double checking his tools and weapons were secured. Weaving through the crowded streets as the noise surrounded the two, neon signs acting as beacons lighting the street.
"How'd you come to kill Urukai anyway? Have some kind of vendetta against him?

* Elan hesitates.*

I took the job from my contact. She certainly does. She gets her information from someone on the inside, supposedly.

* She fusses with her hood, ensuring that her face is shrouded against the light.*

You said you'd been after him for years...any particular reason?

*Kodo shrugs self consciously.* Used to run with his kind before I left Coruscant for a while. Always gave us lowlifes a worse name then we deserve. The man was a sick twist who deserved to die. Always hated slavers, they should all be thrown to a sarlaac in my opinion" *as Kodo spoke about his old "associate" his face is tinged with red, showing his underlying rage.

* Elan relaxed a bit internally, her belief that she'd done the right thing in recruiting him seemingly justified.*

Well, as you can see, my hands aren't quite clean myself. Can't stand slavers.

*She glances over, watching Kodo walk easily down the dark, crowded streets.*

So, what kind of jobs would a self proclaimed 'lowlife' usually take?

*Another chuckle* depends on the lowlife. Myself and Haro usually anything from target acquisition, or I guess more properly bounty hunting, to less upstanding deeds. Information acquisition, theft, surveillance, assassination of rival gangs, or a politician here or there. Whatever paid the bills

* She huffed out a laugh.*

That's close to the same thing Haro told me. No offense intended, but the two of you seem to be rather similar.

*She watches his face closely for any negative reaction.*

May I ask why the two of you don't get along?

*Kodo's face twists at the comparison* " I guess two people who say they are the best, kind of butt together. Plus we've had our fair share of hits on each other. There isn't anything personal on my part. You'd have to ask Haro for his side. Maybe he gets mad he can't always best a blind man " Kodo grins, imagining the bouts he'd almost won between the two

* Elan's face lights up.*

Ah, I've been meaning to ask you! How is it that a blind man such as yourself can get around as well as you do...not to mention perform assassinations and minor surgeries.

* She tried to hide the excited wonder that she felt, but she was sure he could hear it a bit in her voice.*

*He furrows his brow doubt creeping in* I don't.... I don't know...I just .. see people I guess. It's like.... It's like people, living things are light that I see. Or sense? I can't see walls very well but I'm learning to manage., Make sense?" He swivels his head towards Elan.*

* Elan looks at him excitedly.*

That's amazing! I wonder how that works?

* She taps her lip, deep in thought as she walks.*
