Coruscant: A Flame in the Dark

*Elan walked quickly off of the ship. She had successfully avoided Amaruq and Haro while unloading the speeder, and hoped her luck would hold out until she finished her task. She sighed, pushing down her conflicting emotions and set her mind on the work ahead of her.*

*As she stepped off the ramp she heard a thundering voice from the ship.*

Captain!

*Before she could turn around Amaruq leaps down landing behind her. She turns to see him looking at her with worry in his eyes.*

Where are you off to Elan?

*Haro was close behind Amaruq a stern look to his eyes that none except Kodo had seen before.*

Why not stop to chat a bit, love...

*Elan groans internally. Her luck had been horrible lately.*

I need to clear my mind a bit...

*She hesitates.*

and I need to let Aiyla know that the job is finished

*Amaruq looks at her with a look that can only be described as piercing*

Elan, in all our talks you’ve never once talked on this Aiyla, I worry that this is vengeance you are seeking. This is a path that none can follow you on or they will be destroyed. *He glances at Haro and then back to Elan*

We could possibly help you if you just tell us what’s really happening. I don’t want your brothers fate to be yours as well.....

*Haro takes a deep breath to cleanse his mind and spirit*

Aye, love Amaruq is correct. Surely you don't find yourself above the law either... I don't know why you're doing what you do... But this way will only end one if two ways. You see yourself and those you care about killed or incarcerated. That man had a bounty on his head m, a big name in the blood letters. If you had checked the association first and gotten the puck you could have shot him dead in the bar and no one would have batted an eye except his guards. you're a smart girl, love. You're a captain, a leader, ,a friend, and a family member to all of these under your command. It's time to start thinking with your head and not your blade.

*Elan tries to keep her frustration hidden beneath her false calmness. His mention of Jinn felt like a punch to the gut, and her heart squeezed painfully in her chest.*

I can assure you that Aiyla is one of the most important people in my life.

*She locked eyes with Amaruq, unable to fully hide the anger and pain behind them.*

She was important to Jinn, too. I can't let her down. That's all.

Well let one of us accompany you at least?!?

*Amaruq says with a low growl*

*Haro nods to Amaruq then shoots a look at Elan*

*Elan fights back the urge to yell in frustration, their persistence become more and more of an issue. They were doing to her exactly what she would do, were they in their situation, and that made things even more frustrating.*

Honestly, I'd rather avoid discussing this further with you right now. I don't need a babysitter.

*Haro looks into Elans eyes*

If you feel you have no need to be babysat, then perhaps you should start acting like an adult and a captain instead and less like a child.

*Elan's face burned.*

Excuse me?!

*She glared at him, clenching her teeth together to stop herself from launching into a verbal assault.*

*Kodo steps down the ramp towards Elan* 
"Easy Elan, take a breath. Let's not get into a pissing match right now. Haro, Amaruq, is it acceptable should I accompany her? The deed is done, and needs reporting to the contracter."

*Haro stood his ground he, was sure he could restrain her if need be*

I don't think there's anything wrong with your hearing love, but just in case I'll say it slow. You're responsible for peoples lives here, on this ship, is time to grow up and stop acting like a temperamental child and start acting captain. Now unclench that jaw before you chip a tooth..... Love.

*Haro looks to Kodo*

I don't think you're much better, might as well be the blind leading the blind.

*it was at this critical part in their talking that he walked down the ramp he knew everything that was said and could feel the tension in the air.*

I could accompany her. I would like to think I'm probably the most natural party here. Plus, I could also help sort.

*he motioned at her whole body with a hand*

*Haro looks to Amaruq for approval*

*Elan rolls her eyes.*

Does the entire crew find me suddenly incompetent? I have my reasons for things, and perhaps I will share them some other time, but I don't see any of you holding hands around a campfire, sharing all the most intimate parts of your lives. Until then, I believe it's fair for me to have my own personal life.

*She glares at each of them in turn, finally failing to keep her frustration under control.*

Enough!!

*Amaruq says with a loud, low, bellow. Plunging the end of his staff into the ground below.*

Elan, choose who will accompany you!

*He turns towards Haro and under his breath he quietly murmurs.* I won’t let them get far.

*Elan eyes Kodo, weighing her options and figuring he would be the easiest to get away from.*

Kodo, it looks like you have business to attend to anyway. Perhaps we could take care of our errands at the same time.

*She glares at the others.*

Happy?

*Haro turns his attention away from Amaruq and looks her over*

Positively ecstatic, love.

*Turning his venom toward Kodo now*

You had better not let anything happen to her, you sleep a lot closer to me now....

*Kodo smirks at Haro* "She'll be fine, I'm better then you think old man" *Kodo turned his back on the group and started to walk to his quarters to restock.*

*Elan huffs, finding a box to sit on while she waits, her arms crossed angrily over her chest. She stared at the others, muttering under her breath about being treated like a child.*

*Haro can feel the glare in the back of his neck and new he had to make matters worse*

Oh and Kodo! Be a dear and fetch the captain some diapers while you on your errands, love. Seems she's a tad irritated now.

*Haro turned back with a sly grin*

*Elan rolled her eyes, ignoring Haro as she waited for Kodo to return. She was debating leaving on her own if he didn't return soon. She needed to report her success back to her informant so that she could recieve new information on her next target soon.*

*Kodo walked back towards Elan, touting his rifle, and checking his vibroblade and pistol were secure* "Ready when you are my friends, let's have some fun
