*Cran chuckles a bit*

*He smiles, chuckling slightly.* I'd be happy if you would, because I definitely can't.

* Elan grins, amused at his sense of humor.*

So, you left because of Urukai in particular, Kodo?

*The round another corner, not far from their destination. The dark building seemed to loom large against the decrepit buildings around it.*

"Well at least there is a good chance to find something good"

"Yes Elan... Urukai was one of the last straws," he replies quietly. "Some horrible things happened that I will not discuss." *Snapping out of his reverie he looks at Elan and Cran, "Let's hurry on our way before someone gets there before us deal?"

* The three approach the building cautiously, before Elan produces the key.*

* The interior of the building was surprisingly neat and organized. Sleek furniture fills the rooms, and a distinct lack of displayed weapons seems oddly ominous. The silence inside is almost deafening after the noise outside.*

We should be careful.

* Elan steps gingerly around the corner, tense. On a nearby desk she sees a small pile of credits along with a stack of papers and a safe beside the desk.*

*Kodo confidently strides in the room, eyes dancing over the layout, assessing for any threats or traps.* "Something feels off Cran, Elan. Let's grab what we are here for and get out"

*Cran drooling over everything as he looks around*
"We are here for any thing not nailed down that has value and information on valuables."

* Elan picks up the papers and scans them, her eyes narrowing. She glances at Kodo.*

Cran, come help me with this safe.

*She tries to keep her eye on Kodo without being obvious while waiting for Cran.*

*Kodo starts to walk over, his spike, and lockpicks coming out from the alcove in his bracers.*
"I can help Elan, just let me squeeze in.

"He's got this."
*as he starts counting credits form the pile.*

* Elan takes a step back giving Kodo plenty of space to get by. She quietly moves to slip the pages to Cran. Just the first page was full of detailed information on Kodo. They had put out a hit on him due to him selling vital information on their members. There were also photographs of his work, a visual explanation of his alias, the blind butcher. She waits for Cran to finish the page before she speaks.*

*After a moment of feeling the pin of the locks, Kodo inserts the picks and wrench, taking the lock, scoffing at the two pinned tumbler. Within a few seconds a click sounded, and the balanced door swung open, revealing more documents, pictures, and holodiscs labeled with names and dates. To the side were staked another 10,000 credits. Kodo grinned at the silver glint in the safe. Scooping the credits into his hands and depositing it on the desk.*

"Well boss if I may make a suggestion you grab all the papers you can find I'll grab the weapons and our blind friend can gather all the credits in to a bag. Best look for hidden compartments while you look."

* Elan nods, tucking the pages away before reaching for the others.*

Perhaps Haro is right not to trust you, Kodo?

*She phrases it like a question.*

*Kodo faces here questioningly.* How do you mean, where'd this come from? You invite me on a job, now we are here and several thousand credits richer. Why shouldn't you trust me?*

* Elan shrugs.*

Just curious is all. When I spoke with Haro, he took my judgement into question. After our conversation, I will say I have some reservations myself, especially if someone capable of offering you more came into the picture.

* She slips her bag from under her cloak and begins filling it with the documents from the safe.*

*Kodo still stares. Stumped* " I wouldn't betray you, I struck a bargain, and I will fulfill it. I may be a criminal, but I have honor, so if there is something specific you wish to being up... Please do"

* Elan finishes with the safe and holds the bag up to the desk, ready to scoop the credits in.*

* She stopped mid-sentence, hearing a click from the door the had come in through. She looked at the others nervously.*

*Cran stops mid looting and whispers*
"My vote hide till we know what we are dealing with then take them by surprises."
*as he steps into a coat room*

* Elan nods, pulling Kodo into a small storage room just beside the desk, quietly pushing the door almost closed. Faint footfalls can be heard approaching them. From the small gap in the door, she can see two large men. She can hear them grumbling to each other quietly.*

Man 1: I know they're in here somewhere.

Man 2: Shhhh. They're going to hear us coming.

*The first man shoots the other an annoyed look.*

Man 1: I'm sure he already knows he's being followed, why else would he have stopped for backup.

* Elan looks at Kodo, her face set in a confused frown.*

Kodo grins, humorlessly. "Associates of mine it would seem," he breathed. He looked at Elan and Cran. "Two people, probably both with blasters, do we want them alive or dead?"

Dead.

* She whispers almost silently with certainty, her cold eyes a mask for the heavy worry that began expanding in her chest. She quietly reaches for her throwing spikes, and readies herself to fight.*
